If anything.

It’s the small wall facing you as you walk down the stairs from the top floor. Currently the top floor is boy-land as it’s where my two sons have their rooms and also the games room. However, as the eldest is away his room has become the guest room, so I’m looking for something fairly gender neutral. Please inspire me.

We have a large mirror in a similar spot. Or a clock so there is always one you can glance at on that floor?

A mirror is a good idea to increase the amount of light in the space. Also, you could add reflective accents and accessories along the ledge to help spread the light around the area.

There are so many other options like fairy lights, framed images or like LittleWingSoul said, a clock, maybe on the slanted wall? This would definitely be a unique way of telling the time from the stairs or on the landing!
