Emerald green sofa?

Will I regret it? Getting new sofas and was going to go for grey.... but it’s so boring and is starting to look dated. I’m really tempted to get an emerald coloured one and a cobalt blue one. My sitting room is currently pretty neutral and but I don’t know whether to just play it safe and get bright cushions instead.

We've ordered one in 'dusky grass' from Sofa Workshop and a bright pink one too. Go for it!

MapMyMum · 09/04/2018 19:37

I think its a great idea, any pics of the ones youre looking at?

Vitalogy · 09/04/2018 19:39

Sounds great, do you have a link?

pepperpot99 · 09/04/2018 19:40

Sound gorgeous. Ithink they'll look rich and sophisticated.

loaf.com/products/rockstar-sofa/select/colour?size=large&colour=indian-green-brushed-cotton&customisation%5Brc%5D=1 This is the one I’m looking at. I don’t know whether I should get a squishiest version though. They’ve also got that colour in a matt velvet....

I’m so glad you don’t all think I’m bonkers.

OMG that's beautiful. I want green sofas. Need to explore Loaf. DH will only have high backed furniture

ButternutCrinkleFries · 09/04/2018 19:51

I love Loaf furniture. My house is pretty much a (admittedly rather messy, child stained) Loaf showroom Grin

We had one and I loved it. The council has to come with chainsaws to dismantle it when we moved as the front door had been narrowed since it moved in!

mimibunz · 09/04/2018 19:54

Gorgeous and in Matt velvet would be lovely.

ColonelCakes · 09/04/2018 19:56

I think a colour like that deserves velvet!

pepperpot99 · 09/04/2018 19:59

Seriously gorge....Grin

What a fab colour! Do it, if only for those us stuck with sludge coloured sofas.

That was like my old one!

ButternutCrinkleFries · 09/04/2018 20:29

Yes you’re right garden that is more emerald actually. Do you know where that ones from (asking for a friend....).

ButternutCrinkleFries · 09/04/2018 20:33

Also garden you’re right about not having the green one in velvet. I need to get two sofas, the other one a bit smaller and was looking at getting that one in velvet. loaf.com/products/rockstar-sofa/select/colour?size=large&colour=twilight-blue&customisation%5Brc%5D=1. In this colour. Don’t know if it would be a bit much with two bright sofas though? I quite like the idea of my sitting room looking like a rainforest though.

I had this exact dilemma 15 years ago when choosing plum sofas in a sea of beige and ‘neutrals’.
They’ve moved house with me five times and I still love them.
Be brave!!!

Joinourclub · 09/04/2018 20:42

A big yes to blue and or green sofas from me. I'm not sure the tones of the two you linked match though. I think you need more emraldy green to go with that blue.

ButternutCrinkleFries · 09/04/2018 20:51

I think you’re probably right joinour. Hopefully swatches will arrive soon and I can have proper look while in the room.

If you look in the velvet sofas section on Toast they have lots of gorgeous colours Smile

prettymess · 09/04/2018 23:22

We went for lake green leather. No regrets!

Noqonterf · 09/04/2018 23:28

Oh yes. Emerald green and colbalt blue in velvet are perfect. I would like these myself, but a friend just donated their old, but really good condition sofas to me, so I'm going to have to wait for them to wear out. But definitely yes to those colours. Gorgeous.
