Boys bedrooms style and paint colour help

We've recently moved house and I want to brighten up my boys bedrooms, they're a bit of a blank canvas t the minute. Painted neutral and not much in there. They're bedding and curtains and furniture are in.

On one hand I want to keep their rooms quite neutral and clutter free but also want to personalise them.

Is painting one wall still a thing?i was thinking of doing one wall in a colour and then putting some wall stickers elsewhere to contrast.

Is a big tree wall sticker too babyish for a nearly 3 year old?

Don't know where to start!

What colour/ style are the curtains and furniture?

Have a look on Pinterest for ideas and google images as well as bedding/wall stickers on online shops

Get a Pinterest account for inspiration. Ds is 3 and currently shares with his sister but i want this sort of look when they get their own rooms.

Also depends on your needs

For example we have a play room down stairs and my ds is not a great sleeper, so room is about calm rather than storage and play

I've gone for value white emulsion, so that I can paint over sticky finger marks with a minimum of fuss. It's still a riot of colour in there, with too many pokemon posters, a big patchwork curtain a big colourful rug.

Also, I've painted a tree trunk and branches directly on to the wall with brown poster paint. We made leaves and stuck them up with blu tac. It looks better than it sounds, honestly.

We've just done DS' bedroom. He's 12 so a bit older but we used this company for a feature wall - really recommend - www.photowall.co.uk
