Help! What curtain size do I need?!

Silly question but can anyone advise what size curtains I should buy?

The track is 110cm wide, the curtains I would like are pencil pleat and come in either 117cm or 165cm width.
Which size should I opt for?
Thanks Flowers

The wider ones, although you might need wider depending on how much 'drape' you want. The general rule is one curtain = double your window width.

Thanks for that Keeping, and for explaining it. I will go for the widest option then and if it’s a fail I will return!

For pencil pleats you want roughly twice the track width in curtain fabric, so your flat fabrics needs to be approx 220 cm. if a single curtain it would be 220 cm or two curtains @ 110cm each.

160cm wouldn't give you a nice pleated effect, more like spread about waves

Sparta I think I understand what you mean - if I buy the 165 width I get two curtains of 165cm which is 330cm in total of curtain fabric which is 3x the track length - so this should be enough to get a pleaty effect?
