Grey mauve for hallway

I'm thinking of painting our hallway a light shade of grey-mauve (as I believe the style mags call it). I loved the look of Dulux's Heart Wood but now I've had a tester pot it looks very dark. I'm edging towards their Dusted Fondant paint instead which is lighter and slightly pinker. Has anyone painted their hallway a similar colour?

Ours is a grey from Little Greene with purple undertones. We went with a very light colour but the walls look a lot darker now they're painted (only a stained glass panel + stained glass window for light in the space).

Have a look at F&B Peignoir.

HeartShapedFox · 29/03/2018 11:16

Thanks both - JoJo funnily enough my dad's advice was "whatever you go for it'll look darker once it's on" and Harriet thanks, that's basically the colour I want! I'll check it out :-)

I'd second peignoir. Also, have a look at f and b elephants breath as many say this looks quite mauvey in certain lights. It's warmer in to be than peignoir.

I used this as a cheaper alternative to
Peignor, it's very similar in tone

I have dusted fondant in a bedroom and it's not as nice as I thought it would be - it's very lilac in some lights.

WillowB · 31/03/2018 23:08

I second elephants breath. To me it's a warm grey with lilac undertones depending on the light.
However when DS walked in for the first time after we'd painted it he said' I really like it mummy, I love purple!' Hmm

Try F&B - Calluna

Little Green - Welcome (light)

giardiniera · 01/04/2018 15:39

I have Little Greene Welcome - it is already quite a light shade but definitely grey/mauve

katmunchkin · 01/04/2018 20:57

We also have dusted fondant in a bedroom - whilst I love the colour, it is quite lilacy and maybe a bit 'sweet' for a hallway?

Dontsayyouloveme · 01/04/2018 22:28

IVe got ‘sweet dreams’ by crown on one wall in my bedroom! I wanted exactly what you are after -grey/mauve!

justaweeone that shade looks v similar to elephants breath actually-lovely on your landing. Looks great with your white accessories, I have white with elephants breath copy, but it also looks good with black.

ihatethecold · 02/04/2018 07:53

Following. I need to paint my hall, stairs and landing when the builders finish.
It’s currently putty but it needs to change.
It’s gets lots of light but I don’t want a dark tone.

Pinkmexicanskull · 02/04/2018 07:59

Try Grey Steel 2/3 from Dulux. They do one colour name in five different shades. We have Grey Steel 3 and it’s very grey-mauve
