We installed somebody beautiful granite worktops in our kitchen this week - I was so excited about this upgrade from some very basic black Formica tops to this. I chose River White, to compliment the black floor and white units with a red wall. As soon as we started using the kitchen again, I noticed that water stained the surfaces but then disappeared. However, another very similar mark has appeared, but it hasn’t disappeared. I have no idea what it is as we haven’t cooked anything yet! I don’t think it is the pattern of the granite as I haven’t seen any other marks like that (almost like little patches of oil stains, but we haven’t used any oil...) I was very upset (having spent so much money), and our supplier has sealed the granite for a second time. Is there anything else I can do to lift this patch? It is strange as not like a regular spillage shaped patch - but a few small little areas with gaps in between them. Is there a miracle product to get things that have seeped into the granite to come out? A bit like putting rice on wood that has expanded? Should I be worried about stains going forward?
