Ok so this will be our bedroom in our new rented property, wardrobes have to stay and can't paint the magnolia walls, we have a white double or an oak double bed ( other will go in spare room) but the room is abit old fashioned I'm wondering what colour you would add into the room or how you could decorate it to make it look abit better ?

Thank you

Crown suede paint in chocolate

LapdanceShoeshine · 09/03/2018 22:11

Can’t paint walls?

You want bright fabrics then - curtains, bedcovers, cushions.

adayatthebeach · 09/03/2018 22:11

Teal blue would be very pretty

applesandpears56 · 09/03/2018 22:13

I think I’d do wall paper

applesandpears56 · 09/03/2018 22:13

Oh sorry - didn’t read op properly!

adayatthebeach · 09/03/2018 22:13

With bright white and coral.

I’m looking! My iPad doesn’t keep my history anymore. Sad

brewsandbooks · 10/03/2018 11:58

Thanks any way Beach I'll have a google search

There is nothing you could do to make that room better, it's awful.

Wardrobes need rilling out and it needs painting, there's no way around it.

Hellywelly10 · 11/03/2018 09:34

Something feminine and pastel. That purpley grey is in at the moment.
Or do you have an object that you can pick the colours from as inspiration?

wowfudge · 11/03/2018 13:03

I did a reverse picture search for you on that bedding OP: its this.

It's a bland room, but it's not as if you'll be living in there.

StaplesCorner · 11/03/2018 13:20

oh dear. We have those wardrobes; well almost exactly the same, and in desperation we recently painted the walls white. Bad bad mistake - the whole thing turned YELLOW. I am now thinking if we have to sell up here in a few years time we'll have to pay to have it all ripped out!!

But, from someone who is suffering that colour, I can confirm that bedding would really make a change and bring it all together as far as possible, maybe with blue accessories, could you do blue curtains? Like a mediteranean blue?

LapdanceShoeshine · 11/03/2018 16:50

TKMaxx is great for interesting bed covers (though not if you’d want matching curtains)

Otherwise try Dunelm maybe?

heavenly hummingbird is pretty & has matching curtains, though I’m not sure about the purple bits

or Mila - lots of colours to pick out for curtains & features 😊

Thank you all so much
