Kitchen decor colours?

I'm sick of magnolia!!

Anyone got an idea for a kitchen colour scheme? It's quite big and it's an extension so the ceiling is pitched. I quite like Moroccan colours but also greys and darker colours too.

My real bug bear at the moment is our gloss cabinets 😩 they so not child friendly!!! but realistically we won't be replacing them. They are cream. Any ideas?

Over to Pinterest now haha but any ideas gratefully received!!!!!

I think either a warm grey (F&B Elephants Breath?), a green grey (F&B Hardwick White) or a warm taupe (Fired Earth Baywood) would look great. Or, if you want to go darker, F&B Inchyra Blue or Little Greene Livid.

@Ketzele think I might go for F&B lichen but going to have a look at those suggestions now - thanks. Xxx

Lichen is lovely!

Yeah, I couldn't find the Fired Earth one on their website either, oddly enough. I picked up a sample in their shop.

Yellow - modern yellow not 80s yellow

Might go for lichen with some grey tiles ... worry the paint will look odd where we stop at the ceiling!!! The original exterior wall is so so wonky!!!

Looks lovely @GardenGeek I like it, is it mint green looking though? Pictures seem to vary of it 🤔

Modern yellow is the best option.

JellyBelly10 · 06/03/2018 21:29

I'm going to sound dim now...but what do people mean by modern yellow?....any examples? I really want to paint our new kitchen/diner yellow, but don't want it to look too acid yellow, too pale or too 80s/90s yellow!!!! So what are good examples of yellows that won't look dated?

ButteredScone · 06/03/2018 21:38

Mister David - little greene
Babouche - Farrow Ball, I think

Sort of 50s diner yellow (looks fantastic with black and white or very dark blue)

tvhearts · 06/03/2018 22:01

Ooh @ButteredScone LOVE the mister David one!!! 😍😍😍

Yep, Mister David is so fabulous.

I would avoid anything too primrose.

In the late nineties, the designer Neisha Crosland has some round diner stools upholstered in egg-yolk yellow leather on a chrome base. I don’t think I have ever had House envy like it...
