Total mind blank at colour for living room....

Dp wants purple, but I think this will be too dark. He's strongly against white or cream though...
Light grey carpet.... any suggestions from you lovely lot?:) open to anything! Can't be teal, blue or orange as they're already used elsewhere

Could you do a purple feature wall? With a light colour for the rest of the room?

I have Hague Blue walls in my bathroom with pale grey floor tiles. I love it.
