What colour should I paint this cupboard?

What do you think?
Burgundy sofas, burgundy wall unit, mahogany to table and oak coloured cabinet.
Not sure if I go for burgundy if it would be too much/matchy.
The walls are a very pale grey/white with the grey/white wallpaper only on the chimney breast.

What colour should I paint this cupboard?

I'd go with a grey.

Would look nice the same colour as your skirting boards or maybe a touch paler.

White or gray

Grey

Whatever colour you paint it, I'd paint the wall shelf unit the same otherwise it's going to look bitty with three items of wooden furniture all different colours. IMO.

Should I just paint it burgundy like the wall unit?

How about grey as others have suggested, with some unusual burgundy door knobs? Maybe a white background with a burgundy floral pattern, vintage looking?

MargotLovedTom1 · 22/02/2018 17:18

Are you particularly attached to the burgundy colour of the shelf unit? If not, then I'd paint both the shelves and the cabinet the same colour, probably a v pale grey as others have said.

EnidButton · 22/02/2018 21:26

White and I agree with painting the shelves the same colour.

Although I can see why you went with that colour for the shelf unit. Picks out the flower detail nicely.
