Kitchen diner lounge - feature wall?

So we are extending to create a kitchen diner with lounge area at the end. The kitchen doors are modern cashmere with lighter quartz tops. Floors are a darker concrete greige tile. At the end we have a fireplace with lovely sandstone lintel and woodburner.

I want to paint everywhere in a light greige colour but perhaps much darker on chimney breast to height it and give it some depth. Idea of colours would be great to go with my very beigey grey scheme. But also is it naff to do feature wall?

I thought long & hard about the same thing - in the end we have gone all white. I suppose I'm biased but I think it makes the room look coordinated and spacious. I think painting different walls different colours might draw your eye away from the dimensions of the room as a whole.
