Shutters! Help. Tier on tier bi folding doors - does anyone have any experience with these?

I'm looking to put shutters throughout our house. This will be a first for me on the shutter front. We're thinking tier on tier with bi folding doors so that we have more options in terms of opening / closing them. I'm just worried about the reduced light factor when they are closed with the slats open. Can anyone else who has these advise as to whether they are a good option? Thanks

Yes, tier on tier is the way to go for flexibility. Had them 6 years and no regrets

Thanks tuttifritti that's great to hear. Were they also bifold? That's the part I'm most worried about because they are telling us you lose an additional 8cm per side with the 2 parts to each door.

When the salesman came round to ours he spent ages explaining the difference between all the shutter types and helped us decide which would work best for us. Which surpringly was the cheaper version!

Thank you. There is no difference in pricing for us to go with the tier on tier and bifold as we are going with the hardwood option.
