Looking for ideas to brighten up our 3rd bedroom which is very small. On one wall is a small built in wardrobe and the airing cupboard, on another wall is the door and on a third wall is a very small window.
Any suggestions on colour themes to make it look brighter and bigger? It will be used by my son when he is on leave from the army, son want a masculine feel to it.
It has a bed, chest of drawers and desk for his computer so space is very tight (10ft x 9ft).
I am totally decorationally challenged.

Hi I would stick to plain neutral wall colour (magnolia springs to mind) can you change the wardrobe doors to mirror doors ? This will create a sense of space. Curtains etc. Perhaps a check tartan with Co ordinated throw on plain cream bedding. Lighting also help so couple of lamps one on desk and one over/side of bed will make it cosy but bright iykwim. Have a look on pinterest they have lots of ideas.

I'd probably go for white on three walls, then paint the wall behind the head of the bed in grey or blue for a modern feel. I'm think greys and blues are more popular with young men than magnolia. Plain pale bedding, a tartan throw in a co-ordinating colour sounds nice. Maybe white wood blinds instead of curtains?

10 x 9ft is a reasonable size, but the built in cupboards can make it difficult as your layout options are limited. We have a similar issue with a chimney breast in our second bedroom, meaning the bed can only go in one place.
