I've recently moved into a new property to be closer to family and the bathroom is driving me crazy, hiring a tiler would cost a fortune I'm wondering if any of use have tiled yourself with good results? I've always done all the decorating laid flooring etc but I'm a little nervous to take on this task. I know one I rip the old tiles off there's no going back, was wondering if use had tried it and how it turned out good or bad.

I have and the results were poor! It's harder than you imagine

Our half tiled bathroom took the tiler 2 full days plus a return half day for the grout

He cost £500 which included grout adisive and trims etc he had all the tools

Lovely job too

Dh is very good at diy but tiling was tricky for him and we hired someone in the end. It's not too bad if you are starting with an empty newly plastered room but tiling after taking off old tiles and going around sinks and loos etc is best left to the professionals in my opinion. Sorry!
