Chalk paint vs eggshell

I've just experimented with both of these so thought I'd share my experience as I read up on here first and found it helpful.
We had a waxed pine chest of drawers (we actually have loads of this furniture which I'm now eyeing speculatively!) and I bought a full length mirror on a stand from a local Facebook page for £6 which was ugly dark wood.
I painted the chest of drawers with eggshell after sanding it lightly but wasn't too happy with the finish, it was still a bit shiny which showed up all brush marks and wasn't the finish I hoped for.
I've now repainted it and the mirror in Rustoleum chalk paint in graphite then waxed it and am delighted with the results. The chalk paint goes on really easily, you can wash the brushes out in water and the waxing which put me off was ok. A bit arduous, dip and rub, dip and rub etc but the finish on both is great.
Ive attached pictures, it does help that the chalk paint is darker.

Chalk paint is amazing! If you get the Amy Howard brand it doesn't need waxing. I've painted all my wood furniture in it including Ikea laminate stuff.
