We have a bit of an awkward area in our sitting room which looks bare without 'something'.

I would really appreciate some inspiration mumsnetters!

Many thanks

A cupboard!

blueskyinmarch · 13/12/2017 16:51

A plant?

Snowtato · 13/12/2017 16:51

I think I would put a nice arm chair in there,or perhaps some storage cubes.

Storage

helpmum2003 · 13/12/2017 16:54

I agree a small cosy chair to read in or a small wooden storage chest drawers?

silkpyjamasallday · 13/12/2017 16:55

A blanket box or trunk for storage and a nice plant perhaps?

ParadiseLaundry · 13/12/2017 16:56

A nice small feature chair with a nice cushion or plant

thenightsky · 13/12/2017 16:58

It's difficult when the ceiling slopes so low. I have many such corners in my bedroom.

missyB1 · 13/12/2017 17:04

I second the chest / blanket box, with a nice throw on top.

nigelschristmasham · 13/12/2017 17:50

Some sort of trunk type thing with an ornament or a plant or two on top of it?

wotwouldudo · 13/12/2017 21:45

Thank you very
Much for your input, currently looking at a cheat of drawers style unit!

I have a similar space. I fixed 3 shelves cut to size. I have a little reading corner with an armchair and a floor lamp

This might not be to your taste, but I have an understairs space in my hallway, and I have a low cupboard with a lamp on it - the lamp has stained glass and crystal so when lit makes patterns in the sloping bit and becomes a kind of feature. Obviously not one for minimalists though.
