The perfect warm grey: F&B aficionados you're up

Arrgh just had 3 storey hall and landings painted 'shaded white' and whilst I like it in natural light it is overwhelmingly olive in too many places. I was going for a warm grey but I've ended up with a touch of khaki. Need to re-paint but not sure what to try next. Slipper Satin? Too yellow? It's for a period house and needs to work with encaustic tiles in brown/ gold tones. Willing to depart from F&B but definitely need to get it right 2nd time round. Any ideas? Where can I find the perfect sophisticated creamy grey?

Oh no, have absolutely been there way too green and I felt like I was living in some kind of army/school mess. only suggestion I have is that I am going the other way towards blue and silver. Sorry no idea about creamy/grey - from my memory F&B tones really lean towards the green (which I loathe). Had a period house with Ex slipper satin was good for ceilings and woodwork... but that was to compliment the green! sorry, not much help!

Our landing/hall/stairs are painted F&B pavillion grey. Victorian house with 3 storeys and high ceilings. It might be too blue-grey for you but it's a lovely colour and we've had a lot of compliments....

my hall, stairs and landing are painted in Cornforth White. I think it's more bluey grey than creamy grey, but lovely (and def. not Khaki).

We have a lovely warm grey from Dulux in our living room. It's called Chic Shadow. I feel so relaxed sitting in there now (it was white before).

Just noticed the bit about working with browns/golds. The grey I mentioned looks nice with the wooden furniture in the room, and our browny/grey sofa.

With brown tones, I'd go for a grey with a bit of pink/red in it - Elephant's breath is the classic shade.

F&B Ammonite is gorgeous. It's a warm grey with no blue in it. My friend's sister had her whole house done in it, as she was having the same problems as you.

In my living room I've got Glass Houses by Valspar. It's such a gorgeous, warm grey. Will be watching this thread as I'm obsessed with finding the perfect grey for every occasion Grin

Thanks so much for replies. Carpets went down today which has pulled it all together a bit but the military hue is still fighting with my hall tiles. It's green and there's no getting away from it. Going to get Little Greene paint chart as I don't think F&B have what I'm looking for this time. Love Ammonite - it's in our kitchen, find Elephants Breath a little purpley and I think the bluer greys are going to be too cold unfortunately. The search continues... will report back.

I’ve got a combination of Cornforth white and Pirbeck stone and neither have any blue in them

Cornforth White absolutely - the perfect warm grey. Pavilion Grey will be too blue for what you’re after I think. We have a Victorian house and CW looks lovely in the airy livingroom. Show us some samples when you’ve got them!

Crown Period Sunday School. Stunning colour, changes throughout the day, is warm too. We would have considered painting the whole house in it (husband is still pushing for it in our bedroom:))

Wilko cosy grey in my bedroom with wooden bed and furniture and a slightly darker grey carpet.

It's what I would call a pure grey so no green or blue tone really IYSWIM?

After spending a small fortune on tester pots of farrow an ball I can recommend Light Rain by b and qs own range Colours. Its the perfect light grey grey not green grey or blue grey or purple grey.

Slipper satin is nice but does have a touch of the mangnolia about it. Grin

Slipper satin is definitely magnolia! French Grey by little greene is an lovely warm grey. It comes in a few shades if you want something paper. Cornforth white is a little
Bolder.

I've done the bottom half of my hallway and stairs in Purbeck stone which is a lovely warm grey but maybe too dark for you. It goes really well with my new 'greige' carpet.

Ammonite by F&B. Other PP mentioned it. I have my bathroom that colour. It’s just a beautiful warm grey with the lilac tones of elephants breath. As others have mentioned French grey is green (Wink), very sagey green. My kitchen is this colour..
