Ideas for boys bedrooms

We move to our new house in 3 weeks and the first thing we are going to do is sort out our 8 and 6 year old boys rooms. I’d love some ideas for cool rooms that they will like (current requests for superhero and Star Wars themes 😬), but that are flexible for future change and actually don’t look awful! I hate ‘character’ bedding etc, but do accept that they will be their rooms!

DS wanted his all lime green. We compromised and it's lime green on one wall. He then has lime green venetian blind and wardrobe doors. Rest of the room is painted just walnut. I actually like character bedding because it's easy to change when they grow out of whatever they're into. Currently have pokemon.

On the walls he has a large pin board notice board for all his drawings above his desk. He has a lime green chair with his desk. I also bought him a large hanging photo holder which he loves. Its filled with photos of him when he was little. He has a lovely bat clock from etsy. We also put up a dinosaur decal.

The room looks really nice and finished. As long as he likes lime green I can see it lasting for years just with minor adjustments to what's on the wall and his bedding.

Their theme bedding and artwork is an easy way of nodding to their tastes while not plastering their walls in marvel paper.

We got some gorgeous non branded galaxy themed wallpaper for my DS’s (7yo) room and just did one wall in it, with the rest of the walls being light blue and a couple of galaxy themed wall stickers. With a star light shade and a teal carpet it looks themed without being branded. He (and I!) love it, and as others have said it’s easy to change themed bedding.

I think bedding is perfect as its easy to change as they grow older.

We've put pictures up in their 'themes' and then the base colours are pretty boring, but overall it looks good and its easy to move on.
