Wanting to update the kitchen with a limited budget. I currently have a wood effect laminate kitchen with slate effect worktop from Howdens.
I want to tile the floor and replace the worktops so I can put a Belfast sink unit in. DH doesn't like granite or quartz, so it's got to be wood. I don't want wood on wood, so I was looking at painting the cabinets duck egg or grey. I've found lots of tutorials online which indicate that it's possible, but have just popped into the local howdens depot and the guy in there said no way. He said the paint would bubble and that I'd have to replace the doors. (With howdens ones obviously
)
Does anyone have any experience here? Can you paint laminate cabinets and if so, is it hard wearing? Am I better off just getting new doors and kick boards etc? Any idea on the cost difference?
