Right, I'm on a decorating rampage! Please recommend some nice neutrals for my hall stairs & landing. It's a Victorian house, quite darkish (except the downstairs hallway is light)

Ideally neutral colours. Probably need 2 colours as we have panelling on the bottom 1/3 of the walls.

Looked at the trendy greys - too cold for this house.

I'm Looking for creams, beiges, browns, greige sort of neutrals - Not magnolia!!

I've heard lots of mentions on MN of Egyptian cotton?!

Thanks in advance ladies :-)

Most of my house is Dulux Timeless. It changes colour slightly in different lights and is somehow both warm and cool.

We just used pebble shore by dulex in our nursery and I love it! Is sort of a creamy grey colour

Thanks, I'm also after a soft Ivory/cream for LO nursery - but not really yellowy like magnolia!

Tried greys, they just don't work in that room :(

What sort of colour is timeless? I'm looking on the Dulux website but everything just looks cream to me 😫😫 Is your house cool or warm, do you get much daylight? thanks

Farrow and Ball Shaded White comes out as a very very pale olive green, I love it.

Dulux polished pebble is lovely.

Have a look at the Dulux Heritage colours - we used some of those in a Victorian flat and I liked them a lot. Colours will depend on your space but I had Linen White in a north-facing bedroom and loved it.

The Trade Diamond Matte is what we got - v hard-wearing but has a good flat finish. It's more expensive than off-the-shelf Dulux, I think, but seemed worth it as our kids are extremely handprint-y 😒

We are going to have Little Greene French Grey Pale in our Victorian hallway. It is very similar to Dulux Swansdown.

Farrow and Ball White Tie might work for nursery.

F&B skimming stone with old white woodwork - skimming stone looks various different shades of beige to grey depending on the light but definitely not cream
