Knobs...

I got one random one in Sainsbury's and surprised myself how easy it was to fit. We have some old pine furniture- good and solid and more the green (? Not orangey anyway- kind of more brown) colour. So I have a wardrobe and big chest of drawers that I can't afford to replace but which has half the handles loose. I've found lovely ones on eBay but I've no sense of if all different is good or sets of 2 but a mix would be ok. And there are scratches on the drawers. Do I sand and wax them? All ideas welcome thanks to retrieve my bedroom from being a dumping ground and look a bit more styles

Yes, sand them and then wax, varnish, oil or paint, any finish really. It’s a great way to revamp old furniture.

Are we talking a full on sand or can I do a quick job?! No time or dedication here to fully restore so I want to be realistic! Any thoughts on matchy/ matchy or odd knobs?

I love odd knobs in theory- they look nice in pictures but the ocd in me wasn’t able to buy them.
If you go for odd ones have some sort of pattern I think. Each drawer a dIf pattern maybe.
Also my sister couldn’t be bothered with sanding and priming so she just painted her old bedroom furniture for her dc room. It looked crap and scuffed easily.
I bought bedside cabinets which although brand new had a dust type finish! I cleaned them but they would still be dusty when they’d dry. I painted with regular emulsion- no sanding or anything and they’re fine. However it wasn’t a glossy finish to begin with.

I tend to go with just one style of knobs so it look tidier. This is our only piece of furniture with two types but they do suit the room.

I'll maybe do one type per piece of furniture to keep hubby happy. Or say glass plus porcelain per item to keep my boho side happy and strike a balance.
