Table decoration

Has anyone got any good ideas for table decorations/centre pieces? The table is large and bare (as per pic attached). Normally, I'd have some flowers and candlesticks on it but I find them too tall and blocking my view. Have you got any ideas of dressing the table when it isn't used for dining?

I am just in awe of any flat surface that isn't almost immediately covered in papers, cups, books, random bits and pieces, homework and other assorted shit.

I have three candlesticks all of different height on mine. The candles are the same colours as the room decor.

Thank you, Ladies :) I think I'm going to get a patterned tablecloth and some not-too-tall candle holders.

I’d put on a table runner and an interesting large bowl in the middle. The bowl could be woven basket, china/pottery or glass.
In the bowl you could put fruit, fir cones, wooden/China balls, potpourri or little candles.

I had a bowl on there but it was empty and didn't look great. Good ideas about all the stuff I could fill it with!

I would have a row of plants. Three the same or different heights and pots.

I like rows of things. Odd numbers....

We have actually thought of setting up a collection of succulents on the table.

I'm off to the shops tomorrow to see what I find :)

Oh yes, succulents are very 'in' at the moment. A row of them would look good.

Easy to look after but if you're crap at that then there are some very good fake ones!

I did see some great ones in TK Max. DH loved them until he found out they were fake lol 😂 I'm off to the shops today - let's see what I find :)
