Hooks for brass hanging frames for plasterboard walls?

Bought some lovely brass hanging frames here and the matching brass hooks. However, the screws on the hook are no good for plasterboard walls without cutting into them and putting a timber block in or something which seems a bit excessive.

Any suggestions for any nice looking hooks small enough for the job that aren't bog standard picture hooks which is all I can find online?

Can you not just get plasterboard rawlplugs? I'm a bit confused. Was hoping you'd found some traditional brass frames as that's what I've been after!

Apparently not. My diy skills are limited but the chap I had round to do some bits and pieces said they wouldn't work unless there was timber behind the plasterboard which there isn't were I wanted them to go. Something to do with the type of screw I think. I'm gutted - I love the frames and haven't yet found any other hooks that would go with them!

You should be able to use a multipurpose rawl plug into the plasterboard, the frames don't look too heavy so it shouldn't be a problem or find a stud which is timber and screw into that. There will be several studs if it's an internal plasterboard stud wall.

Sorry just read the update!

Yes, annoyingly the timber isn't quite in the right place!
