Help me accessorise my lounge!

These will all be arriving in two weeks courtesy of my old friend ikea (two smalls mess up live here so the removable and extra sets of covers were the main selling point!) and I was hoping to take a break from trawling pinterest and see what real people would add? Huge fan of different textures so want to add a thick knitted throw or similar, some cushions and a few interesting bits to get it looking better for winter.

What colours would you add? I know grey is done to death but the extra covers are a light grey and a dark grey in the picture so ideally go with both. Walls are a non offensive off white/light grey and we have laminate flooring. I was thinking copper and a dusky or blush pink?

Can anyone suggest any accessories at a reasonable price, with two small ones I don't want to have anything too expensive they could potentially sick on/pee on/draw on etc.

Thank you in advance!

copper and blush sound lovely. Have seen some lovely rose gold lamps on Cult Furniture. you'll need some cushion covers for that sofa. Maybe a ceramic vase in the blush pink colour. A throw or blanket for the sofa!

Check out Wayfair. I've just bought some new accessories from there and they're good value.

Lovely. You are so right about texture so yes to knitted throws, maybe some faux fur cushions too. An oversized clock perhaps? And huge candles for evening (cosy in the winter)

Grey looks good with purple colours, I'm thinking more mauve - also olive greens - olive greens look great with purple tones and also copper colors - faux fur cushions with tan colors in could look good with accents of copper around the room. Add in a big houseplant with dark green leaves (more texture) and it's a winner!

Donostia thanks I'll check that out, we have a tall freestanding lamp with big white shade so will be looking for a table lamp and that sounds lovely!

Rhythm I'll check it out, heard good things but never bought from there.

Luxury thank you! An oversized clock would go perfectly on one of the walls. Love candles in winter, I have some gorgeous pillar candles on the bay window just now Grin mauve would actually be lovely in winter too, thanks. We currently have some draping ivy but not sure where Ill be putting that so it's out of reach of the smalls and my most favourite palm tree plant, lovely big swishing leaves. Huge lover of greenery in the house!

Some great things suggested thanks x

I've had a browse on h&m, wayfair and the range and nothing much is popping out at me, anyone any ideas where else would be good for hone furnishings?

Take a look at places like John Lewis, Heals and even US sites like Bloomingdales and you will see beautiful 'set piece' rooms which you can hone into the kind of looks and items you like then from there you can look for dupes (if budget requires) in places like Wilko, TK Maxx and the supermarkets. It's amazing what nice home-wares Sainsburys sells for instance. Dunhelm is another you may want to look at.

Once you have a list of items you actually want you will find it easier to source them. So you can google images of 'grey rooms' for example and get ideas and of course Pinterest is fab.

Oh and have you looked at Next? Some is boring and samey but there are some gems.

Re knitted texture cushions. If you can, get hold of ( charity shops/ relatives cast offs ) wool jumpers, preferably Aran type and then boil wash them.
The felted wool makes lovely material for cushion covers, or if you get enough, a patchwork throw. Very cheap.

Your colour scheme sound lovely. There was a threat recently of decor people hated and oversized clocks were mentioned a lot...

Desinio is good for prints for your frame.Though lots of black and white..you might want something bright...try King and McGaw or Bold and Noble.I second houseplants.Next had some great rugs recently and I don't usually like their stuff.

I reckon some pots plants and metallics, black and white stuff might suit your taste. I'd also go with linen curtains - nice texture wit a chilled out vibe.
