I'm redecorating our living room atm. Wallpaper is champagne gold, I have similar coloured accessories so I'm now looking for a sturdy floor lamp and nice, thick curtains but I can't see any I like!

I've tried The Range, M&S, Dunelm, Next and Ponden Home. Where do you buy your things from?

John Lewis for a lot of things but that's because I live about 5 minutes from one so easy to browse. Or Habitat, Ikea, B&Q (can be ok for lighting and some of their curtains look ok).

Dunelm and next mainly, but Sainsbury's have a lovely home section

Matalan sometimes have nice home accessories, very much depends what style you're looking for.
Ikea is always worth looking at as are the supermarket home sections.
Made.com have some lovely lights.

Have a look on Wayfair - they have a wide selection.

Also, best curtains are made to measure and allows you to choose all the different layers but it does cost a pretty penny.

Bit pricier, but Rockett St George and Graham & Green have lovely stuff.

I tend to go to independant shops (nice ones near where I live luckily and not too pricey)

I also like melody maison (available on amazon) or search 'Your Home' magazine for ideas. It is lovely and gives budget / expensive versions

Laura Ashley might have the curtains you want
