Respraying mahogany - have you had a good result?

We're due to move house soon and I have some large pieces of mahogany furniture that my parents gave us. They're from the 80s so old fashioned but not antiques. I'd like to have them resprayed. They're too large and looming for our new house. Has anyone had any luck with this? I'm thinking professionals.

The alternative is getting rid of them.

It looks like it cost several hundred euro so I'd love to hear whether it was worth it for anyone else?

I sometimes buy old real and mahogany furniture from eBay and gumtree and take it to a local sprayer who sands it back and resprays it.
Comes out looking like new
