Matt or silk?

Finally decided on Summer Linen Dulux paint for a very sunny small living room.
I've always had Matt before and DP silk paint......we have no small children to leave marks.

I think it depends on the style. If you're going all glam, silk might work better. If it's all earthy or industrial, then I'd go matt.

Matt always Matt.

The curtains have a slight sheen to them

Silk brings out all the imperfections in the wall, especially in rooms with lots of light so unless your walls are flawless, matt.

Definitely matt walls, eggshell/satin interior woodwork, gloss on exterior woodwork. Fact Grin

Bluntness100 · 04/09/2017 21:48

Matt. It's a much better finish, anything else showcases the imperfections in the walls.

I found matt marked terribly even pre children, so silk all the way for me. Although i do prefer the look of matt.

Matt. If you go for silk and want to repaint with matt later on it is a proper PITA.

Matt but make sure you use diamond matt as it's easier to clean

Llamacorn · 05/09/2017 08:43

Matt, definitely.

Another vote for Matt.
If your curtains have a sheen you don't want to overdo it.
Even if they didn't, I'd still vote Matt. I don't understand shiny walls!

I prefer Matt but I think it marks really easy so I'd get it made up in endurance/washable paint.

Matt it is...Summer Linen.
Thank you for your help!!
