Mirrored wardrobes - yay or nay?

Getting new wardrobe fitted in the main bedroom and there appears to be rather a lot of mirrored options. Are these a thing?

I always see them as being kind of 80's

As you usually lose a wall to a wardrobe it is a pretty good idea if you want a full-height mirror mounted anywhere. Also a wall of wardrobe makes a room feel smaller - mirrors make the room appear larger / brighter.

Also easier than a mirrored ceiling if you are into that kind of thing!

I would advise you not to put them on bedroom wall which is an outside wall iykwim.
Put them on the wall that adjoins hall or another bedroom.
We put all our fitted units bar one on outside walls and they all have problems with damp. However, the one that is fitted to hall wall is not damp.

We've got sliding door wardrobes, half is mirrored and half is light oak wood.

I like it because it's a full length mirror, ours gets filthy though, two kids and their fingerprints.
