Best pillows?

Boring topic but here goes...I am clueless about pillows. We bought a lovely new mattress recently and now I really want to get new pillows, but I have no idea what type to get. Our current ones are quite thin duck feather pillows, but I'm starting to think foam or synthetic might be more supportive. I'm a side sleeper and my DH tends to sleep on his back (and snores...). Does anyone have any recommendations? Brands? Materials? I'd always thought feather or down was best but now I'm in doubt. Thanks!

I like a couple of well-fluffed down pillows - DH adores his memory foam brick which I detest. It really is a very personal thing.

I have found synthetic pillows not to last (ended up changing every few months). My favourite are down pillows. They do come in different thickness etc so you should be able find one that suits your sleeping style.

Maybe try wool pillows - you can customise them how you like them by adding more/less wool.

You have pointed out the very nice discussion. I want to add my favorite one memory foam one. It's got a memory foam core surrounded by polyester filling. It was $20 at Wal-Mart.Try to findout if you get in dark shade ;)

I've got John Lewis siberian goose feather & down which is really good, supportive & retains its shape

We've just got synthetic fogarty pillows. Cheap as chips but I've found them to be lovely and soft and they've kept their shape.

If you go to somewhere like Dunelm Mill they will usually have all pillows samples on display out of the packaging from the heaviest to the most expensive.

Oh and they usually tell you what they're best for e.g side sleepers.

I was running out of battery & had to get the latex love out there! Like memory foam but better 😂

I got some goose feather and down pillows from Soak and Sleep. They are lovely.

Some of these pillows cost a fortune - do you clean them and if so how often?
