Non toxic paint for baby furniture?

Hello! I've bought a baby furniture set second hand from someone at work and it's beautiful but ideally I wanted a white one - but with spending £15k on fixtures and fittings for our new build in the past two months, I need to watch the pennies so £200 for all my baby furniture was too good to resist! Has anyone previously sanded down and repainted baby furniture? Are there paints which are non toxic and safe to use?? If so, which brands? Grin x

Lakeland paints (used to be ECOS) used to sell a no VOC paint for children's toys and furniture.

Earthborn is another one, but most paints now are fairly low fumes unless you use an oil base one most satin or eggshell finishes are fairly odourless & safe, if you are bit concerned about paint smells if you can, paint outside or in another room that is well ventilated
