Help with new sofa needed

At the moment we have a Dwell Verona, which looks great and has the right amount of space but the low back is killing us! We're both quite tall and get lower back pain. I want my head to rest on the back. So I've been scouring the shops and online for a high back sofa (realistically over 90cm high), but they're all just look like something my grandparents would have! Do I have to settle for old fashioned but comfy? Are there any secret shops for modern, contemporary ones? Just to add, I'm not willing to spend a fortune on it. There's a new comfy Ikea one, but it's just sooo ugly (imo). Any ideas?

We're tall & ended up with large and comfy rather than modern. My recommendation would be to go to sofa shops and sit on as many sofas as possible until you find something that's comfy (&hopefully stylish) good luck

I spent a day last weekend trying to find a sofa with lower armrests as contrary to your own issue I find they are all so high! I've decided to have my existing sofa recovered as it's a shape I love and so comfy. I'm not in England though so maybe different types where I am.

Thank you. I like low and wide armrests to balance all sorts of things on. I've been to a few shops, one after the other, and started to lose the will to live ... It just all ends up seeming the same. 4yearsnosleep can I ask which one you got in the end?

Insanely comfy & the fabric is bomb proof as we had a 14year old one when we lived overseas. Payed a lot less though! About that for 2 giant sofas and 2 matching footstools x
