What neutral colours work with aubergine as a feature wall?

I'm hoping I can get away with just touching up my buttermilk neutral walls but is there a better neutral anyone's tried ? I don't really want to repaint all the other walls but will do if necessary!

I was going to say cream but buttermilk sounds along those lines. Maybe pale grey?

Warm gold, Egyptian Sand by Crown is nice, a nice silvery grey would be good also
