Alternatives to gas heating?!

I've recently purchased a new property in an old Georgian building. The property currently has storage heaters and the building is not connected to gas.

What alternatives do I have?

I've heard modern electric heating systems are quite good but I can't find specific brands or any reliable reviews for systems.

Has anyone got any first hand experience with electric radiators or does anyone have any good suggestions on heating solutions?

Thanks! Smile

Air source/ground source heat pumps? They're a bit of an investment but should be very efficient, especially if you combine them with solar panels. (There are some goverment incentives on them too.)

I've seen some great looking individual radiators, I think in an advert in the Radio Times, German iirc. I'd love to yank out our gas heating and try something like this. No experience though. I'll have a look in my RT tomorrow

Does the street have a gas supply? If so I would get a quote for getting gas before looking into other options. It cost us £500 to get gas in a flat but there was already a gas supply in the building so they didn't have to extend it very far.

You'll add value if you connect the house to the gas supply and fit central heating.
