New kitchen- American style FF or not, just for ice and water

Hi- new kitchen being designed, but can't decide between an American FF - just for the ice and filtered water- or integrated full size FF.
Option with integrated allows for a nice display unit between them
The American style will have to be in the middle of same space with two units either side- could be display also I suppose but would be smaller
I think I might prefer the layout of the integrated but I would love the constant supply of ice and filtered water.
Any words of wisdom??

go integrated, invest in some ice-cube trays for the freezer and get a filtered water tap added to the sink.

Ice cube trays are not the same at all. I would not be without my American f/f but I do use the ice and water about 5 times a day.

I love my American style FF but deliberately chose one without the ice dispenser to give me more useable freezer space.

Of go for standard integrated Fridge and Freezer or FF and buy an independent ice maker

We have an American FF basically for the filtered water and automatic ice function.

But it wasn't my choice. I wanted integrated larder fridge and freezer but Dh won me round. The American FF freezer section is small but we have a separate larder freezer in the pantry so we use that for batch cooking and storing bulk buys from Costco.

The children have never drank so much iced water, the novelty hasn't worn off and we have had it 4 years. We also liked the fact that it is dispensed through the closed door as I didn't want the children opening the freezer all the time.

We wanted plumbed in water dispenser, not one you fill yourself. I do love it but sometimes we struggle for space in both the fridge and freezer.

Is there such a thing as a separate plumbed in ice/water into a freezer and get integrated fridge, basically separated American FF- we already have a chest freezer for the bulk buys and batch cooking

I LOVE my American fridge freezer with ice and water. We are moving soon and cant take it with us but when we find our next house to buy we will 100% be getting another one. I will miss it so much whilst we are without one in temporary digs.

We have one but the ice maker hasn't worked for years.... The cold filtered water thing is great though. My (young) kids use it all the time, as it's lower than the kitchen sink/tap, so they can also serve themselves. I think it's worth it just for that.

Word of warning :Don't do what we did and get a fridge freezer with measurements that are not bog standard and building the kitchen around it.

We got a Miele that's a funny width and height and to replace it is a nightmare ..we either spend a small fortune or have gaps.
