If you have white kitchen units....

what colour are your walls?

We have a white gloss kitchen, grey worktop, grey flooring and grey walls. It's so blah!!

The kitchen is east facing and can get dark. It all just looks so stark and gloomy. I want to repaint but cannot figure out what would look good. I've tried using several paint apps but nothing looks nice.

Essentially I need to get rid of the awful worktop DH chose but cant stretch to that just now.

India yellow (mustard type colour). North West facing kitchen and it looks great.

My walls are grey but I have dark wooden worktops so I think that helps to warm it up.

I've just finished redecorating ours. Had the same problem- inherited very good quality white cupboards and black granite worktops. Completely not my style but too good quality to replace.

We've gone off white walls with yellow and blue accents (was all blue before and too cold/ stark).

Have you looked at greens?

Decoratingsucks · 08/08/2017 11:40

I have looked at greens but none look right on the Dulux or Crown app.

I would think about accent lighting.

We have 'white pistachio' valspar paint which looks a really dull colour when I look at it online but is actually fresh and bright. We have wooden worktops and floors though which lightens it all I think.

Its probably worth not just looking at the app as like I said I would never have chosen the colour we have if I'd only seen it online. It doesn't look nice at all. Get some tester pots and do some blocks in different parts of the kitchen and see what suits

We do have under cabinet lighting - I just rarely use to tbh.
