Has any body got a Grey sofa and cream/warm coloured walls?
Scatternobrains · 07/08/2017 07:31
We have a dark grey sofa arriving Wednesday (not sure if it's a warm grey or
Cold grey) and need to pant the lounge which is north facing. Everything I read suggests warm colour paints, which tend to be more yellow or brown based like various shades of cream. I am really struggling to visualise and can't find too much on line to inspire me. I'm not sure how creams will look with a grey sofa. I want a nice homely room to relax in after a long stressful day.
Has any body else got a grey sofa and warm colour walls (even if their sofa is a cold grey), does it work? If so do you have any photos you could share?
Thanks

I find the dulux website helpful with this. If you pick a grey that is similar to your sofa, it tells you colours that go with it. I often the pick the colour that they suggest goes with it that's most similar to what I want and see which colours go with that and end up with just what was needed.

Lighting will help, small table lights with 'warm glow' bulbs. Are you waiting until the sofa arrives before painting?

I have grey sofa, three cream walls and one warm yellow wall. I put yellow and grey cushions on and a yellow throw.

I have a grey sofa with cream walls but only because we haven't decorated for a long time! I think a colour on the wall would work better personally- eg pale blue or green or even a pale mustardy shade.

It doesn't really answer the question and I can't do a picture but we have Farrow & Ball off-white with a grey sofa similar in colour to the picture above. It looks cream in daylight but pistachio in the evening. We inherited it when we bought the house but it has grown on me and I think goes well with the grey sofa without being too cold.

I have a greyish sofa & walls in stone by homebase, it's a bit darker than Dulux natural hessian, goes well with sofa & have a pale grey/beighy carpet.

F&B Skimming Stone is the answer, looks sophisticated not at all cold and fab with grey

We have Romney Wool from Dulux heritage range with a mid grey sofa. It's a kind of griege colour which goes well with grey imo

Mid grey sofa and cream walls, cream rug and cream curtains. Matching cream throw pillow. Looks good. Also north facing
