Kitchen cupboards

We thought our kitchen was ok until we repainted and replaced the floor and now the units look tired and scuffs are showing up.

Has anyone successfully painted or covered the cupboards and sides with sticky stuff ( can't think what it's called!) and replaced handles. We can't afford a new kitchen just yet and don't want to ruin the new floor.

Yes I painted old IKEA cabinets and replaced the handles and the kitchen looks like new. Really nice.

I got good quality wood paint and sanded the doors well.

My cousin used the sticky stuff and it was quite obvious but a friend repainted hers and it looked really good Smile

I get a painter in to repainted my kitchen every few years - the finish is much better than if I try to do it myself !

With the handles, did you replace like for like? We have long handles but I've seen some nice knob style but I suppose I could fill the hole?

That's what I was worried about. And I've visions of it peeling off or lifting and bubbling if it gets wet!
