Shortening lined curtaina

Got some rm curtains in the sale but need to shorten them. Would you unpick the lining and shorten the lining and fabric separately. Seems like a hassle but will it give a much better finish?

Do it from the top instead. Unpick the ruffle tape and shorten them from the least complicated end.

Yep - what wow said. Mum used to make curtains and she said that's how it's done
