Is it possible to strip the old white gloss off a banister rail? Has anyone done this? I have delusions of grandeur a vision of a beautiful wooden banister in our hallway. The only piece would be a length about 150cm long and I wouldn't do the spindles.
I have read about heat stripping, nitromors or even something called dulux 'brushwood' (which i now cannot find online at all so perhaps is discontinued) - if anyone has used any of these methods I'd be very interested.
