Ordering carpet online?

Hi all, just wondered if anyone has any advice re the following... I need all new carpets and I've chosen one from a local carpet shop and am currently having it fitted right now in one of my bedrooms. As we decorate each bedroom we are planning to have the same one laid throughout the upstairs and also up the staircase. I'm paying £10psm plus £6psm for good underlay. I've found that I can order the exact same carpet online for £7.49psm and comparable underlay for £2.50psm. Is it worth doing this for the rest of the bedrooms and stairs and arranging a fitter myself?? Has anyone done this?? Is it worth the hassle to save the money?! TIA

Yes - definitely and if you can bulk order and have somewhere to store it, it could be cheaper to order what you need in one go. Don't forget gripper rods and door bars. We have saved a fortune over the years buying underlay online. Definitely bulk savings tone had there.

Most carpet fitters are self-employed subcontractors so perhaps have a chat with the chap fitting the carpet for you if you are happy with his work and get his card.

If it is exactly the same then why not? I wouldn't order anything expensive like a carpet without seeing a sample first.

I am very tempted to do this aswell. But unsure/scared. Especially the savings to be had on underlay

I ordered from.Underlay4U for my whole house.

I got the thickest cloud 9,
I think I spent £150.00, it arrived within 48 hours. Its lovely.

Hassle free. I was a bit nervous.about doing it, but I would recommend them to anyone.
