I'm planning a home renovation and pinning everything from laundry chutes to living room colour combos. Potentially I see that some of these clever storage solutions or layouts could be really helpful and some could be gimmicky and not actually that helpful. Does anyone have any recommendations on what they would go with and what they wouldn't waste time with?

I remember a house we lived in in the states back in the 80s had a laundry chute, we were only kids so liked chucking our toys down the slide but my mum thought it was very handy. It was hidden behind a little cupboard door in the main bathroom and went straight to the utility room downstairs. We had a basket stationed at the exit to catch everything.

Sorry that's not very helpful. But I imagine it would save time bringing a basket down and saves space where the basket would otherwise be.

Love the idea of a laundry chute but we live in a flat so would end up in downstairs neighbour's laundry.
