Single bed box room nightmare!!

My small box room is so small a standard single bed will take up most of the room!! How does everyone get round this? Can anyone recommend a bed that fits, but is still pretty.. for my little girl!

How old? A cabin bed would let you use the space underneath

We have had a high sleeper built in, with a wardrobe and desk underneath.

Or a cabin bed with drawers underneath?

She's almost 4, I'd be worried about her in a high bed as she moves around a lot!

No a small single is longer than a toddler bed

I have the same problem. So far we have a cotbed and a narrow wardrobe in there. Haven't actually figured out what we'll do when DS needs a full size single...

Ds has had one of these since he was 4/5. No problems at all falling out. It's quite deep, you could have feet at end of ladder.

We use underneath for storage, couple of trofast drawer systems

A small single is ok for an adult, it's what we had in halls of residence back in the day. It's normal length but 2'6" instead of 3'. Fine until you try to bring someone home, but hopefully you've got a few years before that is an issue

You can get small singles with drawers underneath - would give you some clothes/toys storage as well.

People we know had a high sleeper built in. It went into the headspace above the stairs to give it enough length to be full length for a single (and so could use standard size mattress and bedding).

They had drawers and a small cupboard built underneath. Mattress level is about 4 foot off the ground. The child in question started sleeping in this bed when hebwad about 4, and they used a bed guard to start with, and a step stool to get up.

How times move on. Small double is pretty standard in student accomodation now.

OP I'd go for a toddler bed for now, and later move on to a raised bed with drawers under and maybe some wall cupboards over. I think high sleepers dominate a tiny room too much and make it quite claustrophobic.

Small single would be better value at that age

Thanks I think I'll go with a small single then until she's older. I had no idea there was such a thing... thought it was just a toddler bed! Now to go shopping 😊
