Can I use grey in a brown/cream room?

I have that fake wood laminate, cream walls, dark brown sofa, dark brown curtains and G-Plan furniture inherited from my DM.

The grey trend is finally growing on me (which is effectively a klaxon to everyone else that it's over now!) but I only painted last year and don't want to change anything big. Would grey accessories get along ok with cream walls and brown furniture or would it clash horribly?

Yes they would. I would try and use warmer greys though as opposed to steels and slates.

IMO it's grey or brown, never both

I wouldn't. Very dark blue works though.
