Fitted storage space

We live in a barn conversion and the 1st floor is open to the rafters.

I hate the free standing wardrobes we have in most of the bedrooms and would much rather have something fitted/walk in so clothes can be hidden.

But I can't see how this can be achieved given the open space up to the roof (would look ridiculously trying to box in up to the rafters)

Does anyone have any ideas or other suggestions on how to design storage?

Decide on how much storage you need. Decide how you want the doors - sliding/mirrored etc. Decide on whether you want them to blend with the walls and ceiling.
Get a carpenter or handyperson to build them.

have a look on fitted wardrobes on houzz, pinterest and so on. You could try looking at built-in wardrobe company sites for inspiration.

I want a fitted wardrobe now.
