Should I tip the carpet fitter?!

Got the carpet fitter round as we speak. Hes working for carpet right but I think he's self employed too. Anyway it's £69 for the fitting £8 for a door bar and £15 as he had to plane down the door so £92 altogether. Should I tip him?! Round it up to £95? Or just give him the £92 exactly and be done with it. He's a nice enough guy and seems to be doing a good job.
Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't, I don't normally tip tradesmen. Would only do it if they'd gone significantly above and beyond their normal job.

MrsChopper · 19/05/2017 14:54

It's entirely up to you. If he is doing a good job and you've got the money spare, then why not!? I am sure he would be happy about it!

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 19/05/2017 14:54

I wouldn't, it just wouldn't occur to me to tip a tradesman.

It wouldn't occur to me.

I always tip the tradesmen if they've done a good job but a 3quid tip won't even get him a beer. If you've got the cash I would give him 100.

no

MollyHuaCha · 19/05/2017 15:10

No, not required.

expatinscotland · 19/05/2017 15:12

No. This tipping culture is getting ridiculous.

Thanks everyone. I didn't tip but didn't want to do the wrong thing by not doing it either. Didn't have the cash so didn't round up. And he scratched our brand new wood flooring which I spent the last 2 days fitting at 5 months pregnant Angry so def not worth any extra!!! Carpet looks nice though Smile
