Which design do you think works best?

We are thinking having the back wall sliding glass doors, or half the wall sliding glass doors. No other windows possible.

We don't have a huge budget, the second image with kitchen in the left corner would mean having the utilities still in the same place.
We will need to put an rsj in.

I prefer the first design although it does make the kitchen space more enclosed.

The walkways you have are a bit on the small side in both drawings.

*Both = all ! Sorry - typo !

Option 3 for me

I can't work out how big your room is, but we have a similar shape room and have kitchen in the corner bit like picture 4 but with a similar L shaped island in front with the hob on and lots of prep space, and a breakfast bar pointing into the room. One arm is dining and one living area. Ours is a big room though. Might not work in your space, but I love it. Means I can see everything in the room while I potter about.

allthebestplease · 11/05/2017 07:32

The space is just over 6m by 6m and the L shape cuts into it.

I'm thinking 4 is best but worry it make the living area with sofas dark. But I guess good lighting will help.

I dont think there would be enough cupboards for me in the first design, or do you have a utility room? I like the run of units along the right hand side design the best (design 2?)

allthebestplease · 11/05/2017 12:39

Design 2 does give more kitchen space, its similar to my old house set up. Hard to decide 😊

We don't have a utility room (wish), but do have a separate lounge.

The open plan kitchen area will incorporate the present dining room and kitchen.
