We'd hoped to move house. That's now off the agenda.

Our house is plain and boring. The kids are older now and I'd like to give each room a revamp but am not stylish or artistic at all.

Apart from Pinterest which I find a bit overwhelming, where else can I get some ideas for modern, clean, timeless type decor?

Watching TV shows and copying ideas.

There's a site called The Lovely Side which I love.

Houzz app is great as you can filter certain styles out to what you like. A bit better than Pinterest for interiors.

I've just revamped all of my house, I have some artistic friends who gave me good ideas and also my wonderful builder came up with superb things I would never have thought of.
I went neutral (walls, carpets and blinds) and brightened up with cushions, bed linen etc. New lighting also has made a difference.

We recently decorated our house. For inspiration I visited a couple of new show homes on a new building development by us. Very modern and had some good ideas from visiting.

I think checking out Right Move is quite good as you can see houses of your same layout often an see what people have done with them.

Brilliant.

Thanks for some great suggestions. I am feeling quite overwhelmed at the moment so this is really useful.

It looks as if we'll be starting with ds1's room - he wants it does yesterday but DH and I are more apprehensive!

I second Rightmove as an unusual source of inspo! I always look at really grand country houses for interiors ideas for our cottage. Just find a really good version of your type of house and hope they have similar taste! Otherwise, a home magazine subscription is good. I get Country Homes and Interiors for £28 for a year's subscription and have asked for it as a gift in the past. Love receiving a copy.

Thanks, I've also come across the Wayfair website which has a huge range available and lets you save ideas.

There's also been a few threads on here recently where people have posted pictures of their bedroom / kitchen / bathroom etc.
