I'm looking for the right grey. Warm undertones but not too greige, lighter shade of medium. Willing to try any brand and then getting the winner colour matched.

Have tried (that I remember)
Dulux warm pewter
Dulux skimming stone
Crown soft shadow
F&B Manor House Grey (colour matched version)

Soft shadow was the closest, but a little too dark and warm. Skimming stone is too light.

Any suggestions?

Dulux Feather Flock? I'm not entirely sure what you are looking for but I really like it. It's a proper grey but still warm.

Dulux Polished Pebble is nice.

I have Dulux Engraved Locket. I hate the fact a lot of the greys are mucky brown or green grey whereas this is proper grey. Part of the classics range I had mine mixed up at the decorator

Pearl grey - dulux

Another vote for Dulux Engraved Locket (their timeless classics range I think?).
We have it in the lounge and people often comment on it.

Cornforth white has been my go to again
Not greige but very warm rather than a cold grey

Photo attached is taken without lights on. Warms up more with lights.

Crown - cloud burst
We bought the trade one

Dulux's pebble shore - the warmest grey I've found after about £30 worth of testers!

Starlighter · 30/04/2017 22:33

I'm looking too! My friend recently recommended a Valspar paint, can't remember the exact name, something feathers?! The test patch on the wall looked good!

Hi has anyone used the Homebase new range - Hemdkey paint. It's marketed similar to Farrow and ball( which I have never used either) I'm just about to decorate my bedroom finally!!! After years of waiting and I want to get it right but keep getting conflicting advice about paint. 'Don't use F&B it's terrible and overpriced' 'Dulux is equivalent to primark in the world of paint' !!! I'm getting so confused I just want a good quality and finish. Any advice out there from anyone. I'm really not great at this stuff. Thank you x

Actually that should say 'Hemsley' sorry 😜

Dulux Chic Shadow - cool undertones but a very nice grey. Goose Down is another one with cool undertones but I like it a lot (so much so, that I'm planning on doing my hallway and landing with it.

Perfectly Taupe sounds like it could be good - it is much more "grey" on the wall than you would think from the pot. Warm undertones. Definitely worth trying a sample I think.

Egyptian Cotton is another to try.

We've got Annie Sloan wall paint in Paris Grey. It's a lovely grey, and best of all I can wash the wall if it gets marks on it. Great stuff.

I ended up with about 10 tester pots! I really liked Wickes Steel and the Valspar colour matched version of F&B Manor House Grey but I wanted something in the middle so I mixed a bit of both and popped it on the back of a card, took it to B&Q and colour matched it. Absolutely perfect! It went on in one coat too. I've just been upstairs feeling very, very happy with how the room is coming together. Just need a few extra bits and we'll have a fully functioning guest room!

Thanks for all the suggestions.
