Any recommendations please for a chest of drawers for teenage dd room ?
Ready built, as don't do well with self assembly.
Thanks.

How much do you want to spend? Any particular colour?

Stopyourhavering · 09/04/2017 14:34

I got these for ds room, they're lovely quality, although not very deep
www.marksandspencer.com/hastings-3-drawer-delivery was brilliant , we also bought the wardrobe which they assembled and positioned in room

Also have a look at Cotswold
www.cotswoldco.com/basket/
I'm getting these for our bedroom, they have some good deals on
No flat pack!

Has she got friends who can help? I found my son and my daughter could put up flatpack furniture with their friends.

We just bought some lovely quality stuff from Oak Furniture Land. Or Charity shop, maybe?

BrendaSmith56 · 09/04/2017 16:45

I think probably white or light wood. Am worried about how well the drawers will glide if we assemble it ourselves!
Don't want to spend more than about £120 so probably not realistic to have already assembled!

I bought an oak cupboard from a company called Roseland, they've based in Devon. I was a bit wary as it was over the internet and considerably cheaper than others.
It is great, really solid and beautifully made, also it was delivered when they said it would be. Worth a look maybe.

Thanks for the replies will have a look at them all.
Yes thanks ... Stop... they work this time!

Gumtree? I got an ikea chest of drawers for £25, looks new and best bit was someone else built it!

Check out local charity shops too - like bhf

oxcat1 · 16/04/2017 22:58

Absolutely second the idea of local charity shop or even small ads/Freecycle/eBay. You can pick up a good quality item, ready assembled and possibly wood rather than MDF, but cheap enough that you could leave the teenager to upcycle It themselves, to their desired style. Plenty of ideas on Pinterest, and good for both the planet and your pocket!

Here's one I did just with free wallpaper samples from the local DIY shop. Probably not to anyone else's taste, but it works for me and have this chest another lease of life.
