I'm after some new paper , my walls are shite but all I can find is paper with mosaics, saucepans, coffee cups or a shocking 1980's design. I'm totally stuck .

I love the orla keily style prints and think they are lovely in kitchens. What colour are your units?

drinkswineoutofamug · 05/04/2017 12:11

White with a beech worktop. I've got white tiles with a stone / slate trim

Depends on the style you're aiming for. There are quite a few industrial look wallpapers imitating stone, reclaimed wood etc. Or there are more delicate line drawing floral styles. I'd stick to something with a couple of colours to avoid the fussy look.
Browse JL and B&Q web pages.

I want to follow the flow of my dinning room which is a pale coffee colour . There is a glass panel between the 2 rooms. I've looked at B&Q and nothing has taken my fancy.

Are you going to wallpaper everywhere, or just one wall? Do you particularly want a 'kitchen' paper or would anything do? I suppose that depends on how near to the sink/cooker etc you are papering as I guess you'd want a wipeable finish.

LightastheBreeze · 05/04/2017 16:36

Don't put wallpaper too near to where the cooker is especially if it is a gas hob, as it is a fire risk. We were going to get a new freestanding gas cooker and saw that no-one would install it if there was wallpaper anywhere near it. I'm not sure about electric compliance.

Have you looked at bathroom wallpaper ? It has similar properties to kitchen wallpaper. As in doesn't peel as much as other paper with condensation.

Have you thought about putting thick lining paper up and painting that ?

Graham and Brown have a twiggy pattern called Innocence, in a mushroom. They also have some geometric patterns which might fit the bill.

I've got left over paper from the dinning room that I was thinking about putting round the door. It's washable then possibly painting the rest. If I can figure out how to load a photo off my phone I will show

The patterned paper will go around the back door, and the rest of the kitchen painted in that colour.

Off to B&Q today how can finding wall paper be such a ball ache?

I know. I found b&q' bedroom selection very uninspiring, I found mine in dunelm in the end.

drinkswineoutofamug · 11/04/2017 11:21

They hadn't updated their website of stock so got there and no paper. Kicked off a bit . Got other wallpaper as I only have today to get it done. Twats
